New Battle Royale Release – PUBG Lite Now In Beta Testing

If you were a fan of hacking in PUBG but found it a bit tough on your PC, the publishers of PUBG have you covered. Much like battle royale titles like RoS or Knives Out which run well on lower specced hardware, PUBG Lite is the full game but with reduced graphics and possibly render distance in order to get the game running better on older computers.

Engadget has the story:

A stripped down, free-to-play version of PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds is now in beta. PUBG Corp. announced that it has started testing PUBG Lite, a version of the popular battle royale-style game designed to run on lower-end computers. The early beta is taking place in Thailand and, if successful, may make its way to other regions in the future.

As mentioned in the article, currently the beta is available but limited to Thailand, and seems to require a Thai IP in order to get access. That means you can spool up your VPNs, or wait until the game becomes available in more regions.

From what we’ve seen, it looks like a pretty good version of PUBG as long as you don’t mind things being a bit blockier here and there. But really, performance is king once you get past the first few hours of playing a new game with flashy graphics. Stay tuned for hacks like ESP for the game!
